The guestrooms at Kokomo Retreat are simply amazing! The premium bedding and air conditioning made us feel like we were on cloud nine. We couldn't have asked for a comfier place to stay. It felt like a dream come true!

Personally, we would have preferred to have a balcony or patio in our unit. But hey, that's just our preference.

It was wonderful to local winery. The staff was excellent, always greeting us with a smile. We enjoyed the place: )

nice place to stay in russell. comfortable bedroom with central heating, an iron, and coffee and tea making equipment. awesome, great setting near to tapeka beach and the tapeka hill lookout, the shore, and the waitangi treaty grounds and the walks up to the local view points. btw, located in the beautiful bay of islands.

our second stay in russell was even better than the first - kokomo retreat really impressed us this time. the sociable and helpful staff, the complimentary wine, the spacious apartment with stunning decor, and the breathtaking views made for an unforgettable experience. 10/10 would recommend.

Gas-heated shower took forever to heat up.

Our stay near the white sand beach in Russell was absolutely wonderful.

Absolutely mind-blowing stay! The apartment was modern, well-equipped, and had stunning decor. The complimentary bottle of wine was a super surprise. Chris and Alvin were incredibly sociable and helpful, even carrying our luggage and providing fantastic recommendations. The location was perfect, with access to both a wild, dolphin-filled beach, and a secluded, picturesque beach just a short walk away. The owner was on-site and readily available for any assistance needed, including laundry. The friendly locals offered great suggestions for things to see and do. Plus, the jacuzzi with a sea view was jaw-dropping! I highly recommend this place for a fantastic, comfortable and unforgettable experience.

The apartment had stunning views of the ocean and we enjoyed sitting in the hot tub while taking in the beautiful scenery. The direct access to the nearby beach was a bonus and we would have loved to try out the kayaks if we had more time. The location of the hotel was also convenient as it was close to restaurants and shops.

Our experience during the New Year at the hotel was not as pleasant as we had hoped. The apartment was not as clean as we expected and there were some maintenance issues that needed attention.

Had an excellent stay for a weekend getaway. Location was fab, we reached Flagstaff Hill within 10 minutes by driving. Moreover, it was in pretty comfortable area in the Bay of Islands...

Our stay at Kokomo Retreat was excellent value for money. The room was clean and tidy, with separate lounge and bedroom areas, and the added utensils in the kitchen were a nice touch. We particularly loved the milk froth maker and pod coffee machine. The location was magical, with private beach access and the opportunity to hear kiwis at night. The host was lovely and gave us the perfect amount of privacy. a revitalizing stay that we highly recommend.

The breakfast menu could have been improved with more options.

We had a fantastic stay at Kokomo. The room was extremely comfortable and had breathtaking views of the ocean. We especially loved the private beach and the opportunity to have coffee with the hosts on the deck before our departure. The location was ideal, with easy access to Russell, walks, and cafes. The availability of two beaches was a bonus, allowing us to choose the best spot depending on the wind. The apartment was modern, stylish, and had all the amenities we needed, including a wonderful kitchen and a hot tub with a stunning view. The hosts, Calvin and Christine, were excellent and made us feel welcome throughout our stay. We can't wait to visit again!

Kelvin and Christine were fantastic hosts, ensuring our comfort throughout our trip. The apartment surpassed our expectations, with comfortable beds, a well-equipped kitchen, and breathtaking views from the hot tub in the backyard. The availability of washing facilities was a great bonus, making our stay even more convenient. Despite being a short drive from town, the facilities and stunning views made every minute worth it. We especially loved the easy beach access, offering a picturesque setting with pebbles instead of sand. Kokomo Retreat provided the perfect family getaway, where we could unwind and enjoy quality time together.

My children wanted better cell service for making arrangements while in town.

The kitchenette with a microwave is super convenient, and the lounge area is perfect for relaxing. The luxurious private bathroom is a treat, and the complimentary toiletries are a nice touch. Having a flat-screen TV in the room is a bonus too!

While everything at Kokomo Retreat was great, I personally didn't find the patio in some units as appealing. But hey, that's just my personal opinion!
